Coffeeneuring 2019--year 7
Coffeeneuring 2019 Ride 1
Hard to believe it's been another year already. Already supposedly autumn and the colder weather rides are to commence, but it's been 90 degrees. Still. In the middle of October. Yuk. I'm ready for cooler weather until it gets cooler, then I'll yearn for warmer temps. Every year.
Jen and I will be riding again this year--hopeful to make every ride again on the tandem. We liked the idea of boat ramps last year, but are definitely going to try and do the tandem on all the rides this year. Looking forward to another year of Coffeeneuring!
RIDE 1
October 15, 2019
So it's been another year of short rides. Another year of a different kind of ride, as I was able to achieve my motorcycle license last year. I guess it can be easy to get lazy in your old age, but the new motorized 1400CC Suzuki can be exhilarating, and has become the ride of choice lately!
HOWEVER....
I still love my two wheeled Burley tandem and rides with wifey always keeps me entertained, especially this time of year!
Today, as usual, we did our warm up ride to a local boat ramp. The sun was setting and we left under a very calm wind. My legs were extremely sore from climbing (on a bike) the hills of Asheville over the weekend, so it was a short one.
As we got to the boat ramp, there were probably 15 or so people hanging out for the sunset. I'm used to drinking my coffee anytime of the day now, and can sleep right after cups, so we decided to get this one under our belt a little late. #Coffeeoutside with a tea and folgers steeped to perfection.
A dude was on the pier and after three attempts netted approximately 30 mullet! Dinner for the neighborhood for sure! Unfortunately, it was getting dark out and time for us to get back in order to take the kiddo to his nightly workout. I'll be happy when he can drive!
A short first ride at a paltry 4.38 miles, but coupled with the 85 degree heat and my aching quads, it'll qualify! Let the season begin!
We went ahead and threw in a couple of peanut butter cups too since it's not pumpkin spice season here yet..Peanut butter always works for us :)
Ride 1:
4.38 miles-no wind
85 degrees (feels like 89)
hot Folgers-hot tea-hot day.
